It
seems like only yesterday that my wife and I came to begin
what is now the Bibleway Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus
Christ. It was August 1, 1991, when we moved our few belongings
into 51 -F Bayshore Drive. We immediately went on a much needed
holiday to Gaithersburgh, Maryland, and returned to set up
house. My wife was expecting our first child, we were starting
our first church, living in our first house and we met every
challenge enthusiastically.

|
Our
son was born
in November of that year and one year after
his birth we actively began the process of building
this church from scratch. In the fall of 1992
we began with prayer meetings
which were held in our living
room. Help was obtained from |
|
members
of the
church we ministered in at the time. They helped us
enormously, encouraging us by attending the meetings
and lending their gifts and talents. |
After
a few months we were on our own and managing well
without their aid. Attendance in our first service
was two (2). During our first year we averaged 16.
It became necessary to locate elsewhere as our house
was becoming inadequate due to the growing number
of believers. We also expanded our service schedule
from Monday nights to Sunday mornings. All of this
occurred while my wife and I remained as Music Directors

for
Calvary Pentecostal Church, and
assisted the Pastor in other related duties. In time,
the strain of ministry, full time employment with
the Federal public service and divided priorities
necessitated our resignation from the duties we held
at Calvary. |
|
With
more time dedicated to Bibleway, we saw it grow from
20 - 60 persons in two years. We used the Foster Farm
Community Center until we moved to 3049 Carling Avenue.
Our membership and congregation stabilized into a
dedicated group of people sincere
in
their
desire to |

|
please
the
Lord
Jesus Christ in all things. We outgrew
this facility and once again moved to one with
a seating capacity in excess of 200. |
|
|
From
there, we moved to the Michelle Heights Community Center. Each Sunday
morning at 10:30 AM a lively worship service is conducted along
with relevant and life-changing Christian Education. Since moving
to the Community Center., our multi-cultural congregation, over
fourteen (14) nationalities, has filled the facility to capacity
for Christian Education and worship.
During this time, Bibleway obtained 2.2 acres of prime real estate
in Ottawa's south end. The community is called Barrhaven and the
property sits on Fallowfield Road at Cedarview Drive.
Today,
Bibleway continues to grow, now meeting once again at the Lakeside
Plaza, 3049 Carling Avenue, Suites 204-207. Over 3,000 sq. ft. for
space has been renovated to house our growing congregation. We can
seat up to 220 persons in our sanctuary during conferences. We have
room for 152 during regular Sunday services. Our Christian Learning
Center can accommodate over 40 students, their desks and stuff.
There is room for the bands, choirs and dancers to rehearse. Our
studio recording equipment fits nicely as well.
You
are welcome to join us weekly for an anointed worship experience. |
